Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my data stored?
All your flights and city visits are stored on your iPhone. When you turn on iCloud sync in Settings, your data is encrypted and synced to your personal iCloud. Littoral servers never store your trips or footprint.
Will my data move to a new iPhone?
With iCloud sync turned on, sign in with the same Apple Account on your new device and your data is restored automatically. You can also export a backup file in Settings and import it on the new iPhone.
How can I import flights?
There are four ways: scan a paper or digital boarding pass, use AI to analyze screenshots from airline or booking apps, import an Excel itinerary exported from Umetrip, or import a standard CSV (OpenFlights format) or JSON backup. Everything except AI screenshot recognition is processed offline on your device, free and unlimited.
How do AI credits work?
AI screenshot recognition uses 1 credit per image, with up to 10 flights recognized from each. New users get 5 free credits, and buying Pro adds 20 more. Credits are consumable; you can buy more when they run out.
Can I use Littoral without going online?
Yes. You can skip online features on first launch, and the map, manual flight entry, boarding pass scanning, and spreadsheet import all keep working. If you have already given consent, you can withdraw it anytime in Settings › About › Online Features.
How do I delete my data from your servers?
In the app, go to Settings › About › Send Feedback to request deletion, or email us. We will permanently delete the credits, recognition logs, and feedback linked to your account. Footprint data on your device and in your iCloud remains entirely under your control.
